With the Summon service, Ingram Digital will provide metadata for all the titles in its MyiLibrary e-Book platform. MyiLibrary includes more than 185,000 titles with an additional 5,000 titles being added each month. Ingram Digital is part of a burgeoning movement of publishers and aggregators who are choosing to make their content more discoverable to students and faculty via this service. The Summon service launched worldwide beta testing in January with key content providers ProQuest and Gale, plus other contributors such as Springer, Taylor& Francis, and SAGE. Since then, the programme has continued to accelerate with major publishing additions such as LexisNexis; Publishing Technology; ThomsonReuters ISI Web of Science; ABC-CLIO; IEEE; Emerald; Scitation publishers; the Royal Society; and more. The service is now available commercially and has been adopted by universities on three continents.
