Dr. B.T. Sampath Kumar, 
at present Lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science, Kuvempu University, Jnana Sahyadri-577 451, Shimoga, Karnataka, INDIA. He has the rare distinction of achieving First Position and First Rank in M.Sc. Library and Information Science and receiving Gold Medal. He obtained his Ph.D. from Kuvempu University in 2003 and also obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science (P.G.D.C.S) from University of Hyderabad, Andra Pradesh.
     He has successfully guided 7 dissertations to M.Sc Library and Information Science students for the partial fulfillment of their Master degree. He has published 10 research papers in national reputed journals and presented more than 20 papers in national seminars and conferences. He has 8 and half years research and teaching experience. His interested areas of research are Application of Information Technology in Library services, World Wide Web resource and their evaluation, Search engines, Web designing and Internet use.

 

Dr.B.T.Sampath Kumar has successfully organized two national seminars, two refresher courses and one workshop in the department of Library and Information science, Kuvempu University. He has delivered several lectures on Information technology and Library classification and cataloguing.
