After completing my Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Delhi University specializing in Classification Practice , Abstracting & Indexing, I have accumulated 15 years of experience in Library Profession working in various fields. At present I am in charge of the library at Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) Govt. of India specializing in Medical Information Systems, indexing & Abstracting literatures , providing various information services to the users engaged in different research projects, maintaining liaison with national and international organization to establish exchange/ gratis relations.

Due to my efforts CCRH library has been nominated as a resource center in parallel to National Focal Point for providing medical information especially on alternative medicine. I have been nominated as a representation of Govt. of India to attend ” Inter-country meeting on strengthening HELLIS Network in South East Asia” held from July 26th –30th , 1999 at Bangkok, Thailand.

I have completed a one year course of Deutsh Language and passed International English Language Test ( IELTS ) from British Council Division, New Delhi. I have published papers on various topics related to Library Science in journals, and presented papers in workshops /seminars/conferences both nationally and internationally.
I have also been awarded a WHO Fellowship for 3 months , during which I visited various Libraries in Germany , France and United Kingdom. In collaboration with the Glasgow Homoeopathic Library , I have released Medico Abstracts on different topics related to the ongoing projects at CCRH.

My special interest lies in Establishment and Development National Information and Documentation Center specializing on Alternative Systems of Medicine in India and explores possibilities to link it with Global Information System, as there is no such center in our Country at present. I am already working on this project and had presented a paper on it at the 8th International Congress on Medical Librarianship held from July 2nd- 5th 2000 at London , for which I was awarded a scholarship. My proposal submitted for fulbright scholarship in Information Science & Technology also presents in detail about the development of application of Medical Informatics in Alternative Systems of medicine. I wish to acquire relevant information technology available in the United States, which will help me in accomplishing this project.
